BENEVOLENCE

The Benevolence function is designed to provide a system whereby the Line Street family can show an act of kindness and good will to the needs of her members and of non-members. Appropriate responses include such activities as validating requests, assessing needs, providing (as appropriate) financial assistance, assistance to the sick, elderly and shut-ins, and the provision of food and clothing.

DORCAS MINISTRY

The letters in the name Dorcas stands for: Dedicated, Obedient, Responsible, Christ like, Ambitious, Spiritual. This ministry will instill in young ladies that soul winning and social responsibility are strongly woven together and they are an important part of our ministry. The Dorcas Ministry is committed to total ministry to the whole person, which includes the soul, body, mind, and spirit.
 

EDUCATION MINISTRY

The aim of the Education Ministry is to give the students a positive learning environment, and to expose them to a higher learning, (Higher Learning) meaning obtaining spiritual knowledge and letting Christ shape and mold us into His workmanship (For we are his workmanship. created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them) Eph. 2:10.
Also to help make better and wiser Men, Women, Boys and Girls through the gospel. (And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus) II Tim. 3:15

EVANGELISM MINISTRY

This ministry is designed to teach and assist in fulfilling the "going" and "baptizing" part of Line Street's mission. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isa. 52:7
We live in an age in which we are bombarded with negative information that is broadcasted and publicized. But we as God's children can spread good news about God's grace and salvation. Evangelism is communicating the Gospel to people in an understandable way and motivate people to respond to Christ and become a member of His Church. John 3:16 tells us God sent his son to save us. Now, Christ is sending us (His disciples) to save the lost. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Ghost Matt 28:18

FELLOWSHIP PLANNING COMMITTEE

FUNERAL ASSISTANCE COMMITTEE

The Funeral Assistance Committee is designed to provide assistance to families during times of bereavement. Such assistance to include (as needed) assisting with mortician and cemetery selection, funeral program development, recruitment of necessary personal to conduct the program, sending of flowers, and provision of food.

KITCHEN MINISTRY

This ministry provides food and snacks for the various dinners and activities sponsored by the church. The Kitchen Ministry also coordinates dinner for the bereaved family and friends after a funeral if the family so desires. These responsibilities can be accomplished by the committee preparing the meal themselves and or soliciting assistance from the members at Line Street.

LADIES DAY COMMITTEE

This committee is designed to plan a program once a year that will help Christian women grow in their spiritual development and to build unity with one another. The program also heightens the Christian woman's awareness off the blessings that God has given to her.

LINE STREET GOSPEL CHORUS

MEN'S MENTORING MINISTRY

The Big Brother Program is designed to help in the development of young males spiritual, emotional, physical, and psychological character. Adult brothers at Line Street are mentors to young males within and without the body for males ages 5 to 16. This ministry is designed to help young males develop into God's man. This can be done by instilling self-respect, goals and values, respecting others and dealing with life. Some activities include: bringing them to church if needed, attending sporting events, parks, having lunch together, and also spending time communicating and sharing ideas and thoughts.

NURSING HOME VISITATION MINISTRY

This ministry is an outreach ministry. Members of the Line Street family will provide spiritual uplifting to the elderly residents of nursing homes through singing, prayer and words of comfort that comes from God's word. Presently this outreach takes place the second Thursday of every month.

This ministry is designed to provide a safe and loving Christian atmosphere for children ages 2-5 during the worship service. This is done by sharing God's word, story telling and hands on activities.

S.A.F.E. (Singles Accepting the Father's Embrace

SAFE, is a group of singles that are members of the church Of Christ who have given there lives to Christ by following His will. They are protected and nurtured by the embrace off the heavenly Father. Through sharing in this ministry they face and deal with issues that single adults confront and will find Godly solutions for them. In addition, fellowship and activities will take place to promote togetherness and edification in ones singleness.

 TAPE MINISTRY

The Tape Ministry is designed to provide quality duplication of worship services and programs so that the memory or restudying of a topic or event can be achieved. Also this ministry provides tapes for the sick and the shut-in.

TIMOTHY MINISTRY

This ministry is designed to help develop Christian men in their desire to preach the Gospel]. Men must be a member of the Church of Christ, serious minded and well grounded in the gospel. They must be willing to study and rightly divide the Word of Truth. The ministry affords them the opportunity to speak occasionally to the Line Street Congregation.

TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY

The Transportation Ministry provides and assist in transporting members and visitors to the church building for bible study on Sunday morning, Wednesday morning and Wednesday night, and Sunday morning and evening worship services. We also assist in transporting members to church functions that are held at other congregations (gospel meetings, programs, etc.) This ministry serves all members and visitors from youth to senior citizens.

YOUTH GROUP MINISTRY

The Youth Program is designed to provide programs, ministries, and other activities with a focus to assist the youth in their spiritual, mental, and physical development. The program also helps in developing lasting bonds among the youth within Line Street, and other youth within the city and across the country.

WEB PAGE MINISTRY

The Web Page Ministry focuses it's work on providing spiritual teaching, upcoming events at Line Street, sick and shut-in list, requests for prayer, and opportunity for responses to biblical questions. This ministry is responsible for keeping the web page updated weekly in order to facilitate communications.

W.O.W (Worship on Wheels)

W.O.W is designed to carry brief; complete worship services to members who are sick and shut-in. The units will also be available to visit facilities such as homes, nursing homes, etc
