The Line Street Church of Christ had its beginnings in 1927 as a result of a few members endeavoring to establish the Lord's Church in the inner-sector of Evansville, Indiana.  Confronted with the task of locating and/or building a structure to house the body, the initial members were content meeting from house to house until they were blessed with a facility.  On occasion, various facilities around town were rented for outside Ministers to come and preach the "Word of God."

In 1931, Ned Reeves (a devoted member) built a small structure at 1800 Judson Street,  in the Oakdale section of the city.    This building was rented to the body as a meeting place.  In 1947, the body built a new place of worship at its present location.  Thus, the birth of the name of our church--the Line Street Church of Christ.

Over the years the Lord has blessed us immensely.  Our congregation has grown to over 125 members.  Those who have obeyed the Gospel and become apart of this body can truly say that their lives have been enriched.  Therefore, we proudly proclaim that our church has stood as a "beacon light" in this community for 74 years.

We know that the Lord hasn't brought us this far just to leave us.  And, we feel that the Lord still has a mighty work for us to do in Evansville and throughout this world.  Our presence on the "World Wide Web" is simply a confirmation of the work that the Lord is doing with and through us.  We hope that you find our website to be both inspiring and uplifting.  We trust and pray that your life will be enriched in some small way as you navigate through the various components of this website.
